At Barton Design Centre, the design process starts by understanding how you use your bathroom, what you would like to change and any problems the existing room creates. Tony then uses decades of bathroom experience to help find a practical solution.
We’ll visit your home to carry out a site survey, take accurate measurements and talk through what you want to achieve. This gives us a clear understanding of the space, your priorities and any practical considerations before the design work begins.
Using the measurements and information gathered during the survey, we’ll produce detailed bathroom drawings from our Barton on Sea showroom. These help bring the layout together and give you a clear idea of how the finished space could work.
You’ll then be invited to our Barton on Sea showroom to go through the drawings, explore the available products and choose your preferred materials, finishes and fittings. Once everything has been agreed, Barton Design Centre will prepare the cost for the supply of your chosen bathroom products and materials.
If you require installation, the proposed work can then be broken down into a clear step-by-step job schedule. This sets out how the bathroom will be approached, the order in which the work is expected to take place and what is involved throughout the installation.
Once you’re happy to proceed, we’ll place the order for your bathroom products and materials. If fitting is required, we can also arrange a site visit with one of our recommended independent fitters, who can discuss the installation with you and provide their own quotation for the work.

These drawings help bring the layout to life, showing how the key elements of the room could work together before any decisions are finalised. We’ll consider the position of baths, showers, furniture, sanitaryware and storage, making the best use of the available space while keeping the design practical and balanced. This stage gives you a much clearer picture of how your new bathroom could look and function.
You’ll then be invited to our Barton on Sea showroom to sit down with Tony, go through the drawings and refine the design together. This is where you can explore the products, materials, finishes and fittings available, from baths and showers to furniture, brassware and tiles. With thousands of bathroom products available, Tony can help narrow down the options and make sure everything works together. Once the design and product choices have been agreed, Barton Design Centre will prepare a clear cost for the supply of your chosen bathroom products and materials.
